Overview

In the third book in the Kuma-Kuma Chan series, the title character flies off to a south sea isle where he lies in the sun and drifts into a lazy snooze. He climbs to the summit of a mountain and views the sunrise while drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Instead of physically setting out for one place or another, Kuma-Kuma travels freely all over the world - inside his head. Once again, Kuma-Kuma Chan charms as he exemplifies the joy of a simple, peaceful, life. With its spare text and delightful illustrations, this small-format picture book invites readers to explore their own imaginations and create their own travels.

Reviews

"The antidote for your overscheduled, hurried and harried child." â€â€ÂJulie Danielson, Seven Impossible Things

"Though it's the third book in the series, it stands alone, but it's a great reason to check out the other two. A delightful, engaging book for a broad audience, an effective form of stress reduction, and a catalyst for readers' own imaginary travelsâ€â€Âall in an irresistibly wee package." â€â€ÂVicky Smith, Kirkus Reviews

"With Kuma-Kuma Chan as a stand-in for small children, the book captures well the caprices of toddlers (in one moment, we see the bear just angrily rolling about on the ground), as well as their abundant imaginations. All the charms of the first two books are here. Long live Kuma-Kuma Chan." â€â€ÂJulie Danielson, Kirkus Reviews

"Featuring the adorable bear, Kuma-Kuma Chan, readers and listeners are bound to delight in this magical tale of imagination and being content with one's own company." â€â€ÂKendal Rautzhan, readingeagle.com
